adit and safira runs off and ends up at adit’s rented house but his crazy mum chases safira off. the poor girl. how much more can she take in the name of love?

okay, i’m being overly dramatic … but safira is being faced with even more challenges … she’s going to be married off! so she has decided to follow adit. hmmm …

young love is simple. you just follow your heart. but when you get older. argh. so complicated. but i guess, the reason i like watching this indonesian sinetron even though the script and acting can be a bit off at times … is … it makes me want to believe in the power of love, in the strength of a relationship … that despite the odds, you can achieve  happiness … but you gotta be strong. sigh.

adit has come to his senses. i’m glad this didn’t take too long. men/boys can be really foolish. but the funny thing he said in this episode it ‘cimat’ .. lololol … short for ‘cinta mati’. only the indonesians can come up with this combining of words. it’s cute but hilarious as well.

just finished watching safira on tv2. today’s episode is so sad. coz mia is now hartawan’s real daughter and has moved into the big house. and of course she makes safira’s life miserable. but the stupid thing is … adit thinks that the best way to recover the certificate of his grandma’s house is to pretend to like mia again so that he can get close to hartawan. what the sugarmama? poor safira. she’s heartbroken. and her brother has also discovered that mia is twotiming him. so he wants revenge.

oh, dear … expect more sad episodes from today.

i’ve lost a bit of respect for adit. he should find other ways insteady of cosying up to mia. the scriptwriter has totally run out of ideas. but well … maybe it’s just to show how much safira can take, and still remain a kind soul.

whatever!!

just finished watching P.S. I Love You … the movie based on the novel by Cecilia  Ahern. i give it … 3/5

it’s a lovely movie. the ideas are great. but the delicious hero, hillary swank’s husband who died in this movie played by gerard butler … does not seem to have a strong chemistry with swank. i just think swank doesn’t really fit into this role. yes, she is supposed to be sad. but in the flashback scenes where she doesnt know yet that she is going to lose him … she still looks sad!

but i do love the idea, and the irish parts … but … just sthing not right. and you have amazing actors … gina gershon, lisa kudrow, james marsters, the also delicious harry connick jr and kathy bates … well, they weren’t really given the chance to shine. i just feel like … they should hv gone for another set of actors … coz the only challenging parts were given to the leads … gerard butler is GREAT. he has this inner shine, a cheekiness … great actor. but swank … and she looks all wrong wearing the girly girly dresses. and why does she have to show her body in the beginning … she’s not sexy … i mean i love her in the other movies … but i feel like this movie … she was just wrong.

but you know what … i don’t know. i haven’t read the novel. so maybe she’s perfect for the role. but i shall say it again. hillary swank sucks in this movie. eventhough it made me shed some tears. :-)

hv just watched The Other End Of The Line … a movie with Jesse Metcalfe and Shriya Saran … i give this movie 3.8/5

i love the casting, especially Shriya Saran and Jesse Metcalfe as Priya and Granger. they have lovely chemistry in this film. it’s not sizzling but it is like a bubbling pot of hot water … heheh. you can see how the attraction grows. but i wish they’d include Granger into the Indian culture more.

anyway, it’s about this Indian girl who works in a call centre in Mumbai, Priya. Her American name is Jennifer David and she calls up Granger about a possible credit card fraud. their telephone relationship grows, sort of … and Granger invites Priya to meet up in San Francisco (where she’s supposed to be based). Priya, who’s engaged, actually decides to go to San Francisco. the night they’re supposed to meet, she chickened out because he mistook a blonde girl for her. but then, as she was about to leave the hotel, they bumped into each other and he fell on top of her causing a bit of a bump. and they had dinner and then they got to know each other. but Priya’s parents got upset and flew to SF to find her. it so happens that they have a relative in Palo Alto. And … well, you gotta watch the movie.

the movie is not as good as Monsoon Wedding, which i absolutely love … but this movie has HEART … and that means it’s won half the battle with an audience such as myself. some parts where there’s supposed to be a ‘punch’, there’s none. and the part where Granger kisses Priya at the call centre … ummm … i don’t think people do that in India. it would be nicer if they kiss somewhere private. oh, and the soundtrack is a bit cheesy. heheh. although i do like the fact that they included Frank Sinatra’s The Way You Look Tonight.

but the CINEMATOGRAPHY is beautiful, just like an Indian movie. i noted that the cinematographer is indian. of course i don’t know whether he’s from India or the US. but if he’s from India, then it’s not surprising. because Bollywood movies have great cinematography.

if i were to make a movie, i would want an Indian (from India) to do the cinematography. really.

in Malaysia, i love Khabir Bhatia’s movies because of the cinematography. it’s luminous.

anyway, The Other End Of The Line is produced by Ashok Amritraj who actually produced Jeans (which I like very much!!) including Premonition starring Sandra Bullock.

this episode is really quite terrible for safira’s family. the materialistic sister farah has put them in hot soup! but maybe it will act as catalyst for the mother to stand on her own two feet. hmmm …

safira and aditya’s relationship gets more intimate this week as they go on their first date. hahahaha. so sweet. young love … aah. i tell you, there’s nothing like innocent young love. honestly. especially when it’s just touching hands, kisses on the cheeks … when it gets too physical, that’s when the romance wears off. hold off sex kids. or you will miss the sweetness of a relationship that you would want to look back with a smile. :-)

enjoy.
